Noordhoek Residence – Residential Architecture Project in Design phase going to construction

This residential project in Noordhoek explores a contemporary interpretation of the traditional pitched-roof form commonly found within the Southern Peninsula landscape. The design is composed of a series of articulated gabled volumes arranged along the natural slope of the site, allowing the house to step gently with the terrain while maximizing views toward the surrounding landscape.

The architecture balances simplicity and refinement through a restrained material palette of white plastered walls, natural stone elements, and large glazed openings. These materials respond to the coastal context of Noordhoek while creating a calm and timeless architectural expression.

The primary living spaces are organized along the upper level, where large glazed facades and covered terraces create a strong connection between interior and exterior living areas. The open-plan kitchen, dining, and living areas extend onto generous outdoor terraces overlooking the pool and landscaped garden, reinforcing the house’s relationship with the outdoor environment.

Secondary volumes accommodate private bedroom spaces and additional living areas, allowing the overall form to break down into a cluster of smaller architectural elements rather than a single monolithic structure. This approach softens the scale of the building and allows the house to sit comfortably within the surrounding landscape.

A sculptural stone chimney acts as a vertical anchor to the composition while providing material contrast to the otherwise minimal architectural language. The integration of solar panels into the roofscape reflects the project's commitment to sustainable living while maintaining the clarity of the architectural form.

The project demonstrates a balance between contemporary residential design and the relaxed coastal character of Noordhoek, creating a home that is both modern in expression and deeply connected to its natural setting.
